ViteMeir is Climate Partner

ViteMeir will, as a Climate Partner, be part of the region's most important partnership for emission reductions and green transition.

Klimapartnere Vestland has more than 60 partner networks and for ViteMeir it was completely natural for me to become part of the community.

- ViteMeir will take a leading position in climate and environmental work. "Through Klimapartnere we can take part in a lot of knowledge and share our learning. This will be great," says Managing Director Erlend Fardal Lunde.

Project manager for Klimapartnere Vestland, nord, Truls-Einar Strand Johnsen is pleased to have ViteMeir in the partnership:

- "We're very happy to have ViteMeir on board as the partnership's second science center. We look forward to taking part in all the projects ViteMeir has going on.

ViteMeir will move into the new county administration building at Kaupanger in the fall, and Lunde makes no secret of the fact that the sustainable focus during the construction period is an obligation:

- "We're moving into a building that has 50% of the carbon footprint of a reference building. All of these factors are binding when we start full operation afterwards. ViteMeir will not make the easy choices, we will make the right choices," concludes Lunde.

Vestland has adopted a goal of becoming a zero-emissions county by 2030. All Climate Partners have been challenged to remove all direct emissions by 2030 and set goals in line with this, as well as being strong drivers for the green shift in the region. The partnerships are characterized by the attitude: "We are doing this!"

Klimapartnere Vestland was established in 2014, together with the Norwegian Climate Foundation and Hordaland County Council. Since then, the partnership and its leader, Helene Frihammer, have also played a key role in spreading the good Klimapartnere methodology to the rest of the country. This has certainly been successful, as strong partnerships will soon be found throughout Norway. In my role as Strategic Project Manager for Klimapartnere, the goal is to strengthen the method and promote Klimapartnere throughout the country.
