Safe travel route for students from Luster

Luster Sparebank has signed a 3-year partnership agreement with ViteMeir to finance bus transportation and safe travel to and from schools in Luster municipality

ViteMeir and Luster Sparebank were able to share the good news this week with Knut Åge Teigen, Head of Education in Luster Municipality.

- "We're lucky to have a science center close by. That's why it's great that, by sponsoring school transportation, I can help children and young people in Luster municipality to experience what ViteMeir has to offer. Our goal is for all schoolchildren in Luster to have an exciting and inspiring day at ViteMeir once a year," says Oddstein Haugen, bank manager at Luster Sparebank.

Luster Sparebank's annual sponsorship contribution finances a minimum of 25 bus transports to and from schools in the municipality and ViteMeir.

- Transportation is a major barrier to ensuring extensive visits from schools. ViteMeir is therefore dependent on partners such as Luster Sparebank seeing the need for financing bus transportation," says Erlend Fardal Lunde, CEO of ViteMeir.

The first students from the municipality of Luster will arrive at ViteMeir shortly after it opens on November 11. Perhaps with Oddstein Haugen and Knut Åge Teigen as co-pilots?
