Erlend Fardal Lunde becomes Marketing Manager

Erlend Fardal Lunde (32) has worked in the hotel industry for 11 years. He has been both hotel manager in Sogndal and hotel director in Sandnessjøen, before spending the last three years as hotel director at Comfort Hotel Bergen Airport. He is now employed in a project position with responsibility for sales and marketing at the science center.

Erlend is from Systrond, and his wife Karoline is from Hafslo. In June last year, they became parents to Aria. When Norway went into lockdown in March, Erlend went on parental leave. Homesickness had begun to set in for both of them, and it was time for new challenges. – ViteMeir must be the most exciting project in Sogn! I have worked a lot with the sustainability profile before, and this will also be a main profile in the science center. Here I can also work with social sustainability , and that got me excited. I'll be commuting until Christmas. Then the whole family will move to Sogndal .

Both commercial and administrative

- The tourism perspective, Erlend answers why he was interested in this project position. I come from the tourism industry, but this is a different approach to tourism. I like working with both the commercial and administrative aspects. On September 1st, he will start his job marketing and getting the science center ready to receive guests next autumn . - Among other things, we will be operating a 200 m2 café, and here I can use my experience from previous projects to organize a tasty meeting place for both guests at the science center and those who just want to stop by for a bite to eat.

Strengthens the team

Chairman Tor Arne Ness is very pleased to have another piece in place in the work of building an exciting center. -Erlend will be a resource for our project. He has a relevant background, and is well-versed in creating meeting places and developing a tourism product. In addition, he has great work capacity and good references. In parallel with the building being erected, ViteMeir build the organization. Several exciting positions will be advertised in the run-up to the opening in autumn 2021. The educational focus will be strengthened, and the application deadline for one of these positions - as a digital potato - is already August 16th.
