This year we are offering three summer school courses and in addition to holding summer school at ViteMeir so I'll also have summer school in Sogndal , Leikanger and Balestrand. Thanks to BUFDIR and Sogndal The municipality is pleased to announce that this year's course is free!
The summer school is an activity offering with a planned program where children participate in joint activities led by a facilitator from ViteMeir . The children who register should be motivated for active and educational days. In order for the summer school to be a good experience for everyone, it is important that the children who register want to be part of the program that will be implemented.

There are a limited number of places so please register before they are full.

  • The summer school is an activity offering with a planned academic program, and is not intended as childcare. The offering is suitable for children who want to participate in organized activities throughout the day. If the need is primarily supervision or free play, the summer school is not the right offering.

  • In order for everyone to have a good experience, we expect the children to participate in the activities and follow instructions from the instructors.
    We also expect children to show respect for both adults and other participants, and to contribute to a safe and inclusive environment. This means common etiquette such as listening, cooperating and being considerate of others. The summer school has a common program, and it is important that everyone contributes positively to the group.

  • In order for the summer school to be a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we expect participants to follow instructions and contribute to a good environment.
    If a child repeatedly disrupts activities or does not follow the rules, we may have to contact the parent or guardian and ask that the child be picked up. The summer school is organized around joint activities, and unfortunately we do not have the resources to offer alternative programs for children who do not wish to participate.

  • Due to staffing, safety and organizational considerations, we are unable to offer alternative activities.

  • The summer school is an activity program, not a full-day after-school program. Our experience is that children get tired and lose concentration after several hours of activities. The program is rich in content and consists of organized activities, with limited time for free play. Shorter days make it easier for children to stay motivated and have a good experience.

  • The summer school does not serve food. Children must bring their own packed lunch and drinks.

  • Yes, the child can go home alone. Remember that there is a 10-year age limit for being alone in the exhibition at ViteMeir .

The mini scientist:

For those who will be starting 2nd-3rd grade in the fall.

Join us on a journey through science as we explore how humans have always used science and technology to understand the world around them. We take the journey from the age of dinosaurs, to the Viking Age and into the future! We explore how knowledge and technology have developed throughout history. There will be exciting assignments, creative building projects and engaging experiments!

Experiment X:

For those of you who will be starting grades 4-7 in the fall  

At Experiment X you will get to 3D print your own figures and create exciting inventions. We will also have a cardboard bonanza where we will make cool structures, in addition to cool experiments and outdoor activities throughout the day. You don't want to miss this!

Company Chemistry:

For those who will be starting 2nd-3rd grade in the fall.

Are you ready to be recruited into the Chemistry Company? Over the course of two exciting days, we will explore chemical reactions that you can see, hear and feel. Through practical experiments, you will learn how matter can transform, mix and react. Will you be able to pass all the assignments and become a certified member of the Chemistry Company?

Terms:

It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that the child shows up for the start of the summer school, and parents must arrange transportation to/from the summer school themselves. All activities are conducted in Norwegian, ViteMeir does not provide an interpreter. Only the child who has registered and has been confirmed in their assigned place may attend. If your child has an assistant at school, it is the parent's responsibility to organize this at the summer school.

This year's summer school is free and, as always, with a limited number of places. We would therefore like to hear from you as soon as possible if you are unable to use your place so that someone else can enjoy it.

For the summer school to take place, there must be a minimum of 8 registrations. If it is cancelled, you will receive an email within 5 days.

For summer school held at ViteMeir , we would like to remind you that children under the age of 10 are not allowed to be alone in the exhibition after the summer school has finished for the day.
