We are looking forward to 2020!
2019 has been a eventful year for ViteMeir , and the project group would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to stimulating the project! ViteMeir is a project for the entire region – not least for our future generation. The center will stimulate interest in science, and will be an important catalyst for recruitment, competence building and collaboration between private and public actors.
Important milestones in 2019:

What is ViteMeir ?
ViteMeir will inspire children and adults to explore and seek new knowledge, and will collaborate with the Norwegian Education Agency to develop knowledge that society and business need in the future.
The target groups for ViteMeir are mainly kindergartens, schools and anyone else who wants more science competence.
There are 12 regional Science Centers in Norway – we aim to become number 13. It was particularly gratifying to receive feedback from the Science Board of the Research Council of Norway, which in early December gave a positive recommendation to take up ViteMeir in the national scheme for regional science centres. Regional science centres are financed through a partnership between the state, school owners, business and the leisure market.
Built at Kaupanger, which ViteMeir will be a part of, will house a modern science center that aims to attract 40,000 visitors annually, and will be a meeting place for the business community. In addition, there will be a new school for Sogndal VGS with the study lines of professional driver, construction machinery, transport and logistics.
