ViteMeir opens November 11th!
Opens its doors in nine months
(Kaupanger, 11.02.2021) A tough fight for state funds, long-term development of good pedagogical learning programs and planning of a top-class science center exhibition – ViteMeir are ready for visits from November 11th.
- Setting a deadline on a project is an important milestone. When we now go out and promise an opening date, it gives a feeling of joy mixed with horror, says daily manager Erlend Fardal Lunde.
The content and exhibition in the science center have been carefully planned over many years, but it is only now that it has been adapted, adjusted and commissioned that the project ViteMeir is starting to feel real. The architect with primary responsibility for content development is the communications manager Åse Neraas :
"Åse has impressed me from day one and has truly made content development her own prestigious project. It is a great joy to watch her present thoughts, ideas and pedagogy with an ownership that is thick on her body," says Lunde enthusiastically.
ViteMeir will take their guests on a journey from the bottom of the Sognefjord, 1303 meters above sea level, to the top of Norway, 2469 meters above sea level. Among other things, they will experience physically active learning in the ballroom, test their taste buds in the Taste Lab, get to know Sophus Lie, take the step into the virtual world and compete in the night test.
- We will be a visitor and learning center where you can explore, learn and achieve mastery through discovery. We are thrilled to welcome the first guests in November, concludes the outreach manager Åse Neraas .
