ViteMeir opens november 11!
Opening the doors in nine months
(Kaupanger, 11.02.2021) A hard-fought battle for government funding, long-term development of good educational learning programs and planning of a top-class science center exhibition - ViteMeir is ready for visits from 11 November.
- "Setting a deadline for a project is an important milestone. When we now go out and promise an opening date, it gives a feeling of mixed joy," says Managing Director Erlend Fardal Lunde.
The content and exhibition in the science center have been carefully planned for many years, but it is only now that it has been adapted, adjusted and commissioned that project ViteMeir begins to feel real. The architect primarily responsible for the development of the content is communication manager Åse Neraas:
- "Åse has impressed me from day one and has truly made learning development her own prestige project. It's a great pleasure to see her present her thoughts, ideas and pedagogy with a personality that shows through," says Lunde enthusiastically.
ViteMeir will take their guests on a journey from the bottom of the Sognefjord, 1303 meters above sea level, to the top of Norway, 2469 meters above sea level. Among other things, they will experience physically active learning in the ballroom, test their taste buds in SmaksLaben, get to know Sophus Lie, step into the virtual world and compete in the night test.
- We want to be a visitor and education center where you can explore, learn and achieve mastery through discovery. We are excited to welcome the first guests in November," concludes Åse Neraas, Head of Education.
