Heidi was the lucky one who got the job at ViteMeir
Heidi sits on the roof at home in Kaupanger and can look down at ViteMeir-bygget. She has now secured a job as venue and booking manager.
- The fact that I get to help shape something new, not just the position, but the whole concept, was actually one of the things that appealed to me. That was actually the main reason," says Heidi Breili Bøthun.
She was the lucky one to win the position as room and booking manager at ViteMeir after several rounds of good candidates.
- "I'm delighted that Heidi is becoming part of the ViteMeir family. Throughout the process, she has shown us an enormous willingness to work at ViteMeir. Heidi has a wide range of expertise and fits perfectly into our team of potatoes," says Managing Director Erlend Fardal Lunde.
Position that was written to her
Heidi is a trained teacher and currently works at Nybø Blomster. She has followed several of ViteMeir 's job advertisements, and has been waiting for the right position to be advertised.
- It was written for me, and I thought: I MUST have it! I called Erlend the next day, and was obsessed from the moment I saw the position until the application deadline. I didn't think about much else," she says.
The interview took place in two rounds, first a normal interview, and then a creative task they had to solve.
- It's sales and booking, so I have to sell myself in. I used all my creative skills and made a powerpoint about myself. I brought out humor, images and used symbolism, including the ViteMeir colors," she says.
The pictures were of herself in different settings to show why she was best at her job, including a picture with ViteMeir-ice.
- "I was at MIX and wanted ice cream with the ViteMeir colors as an illustration that I was systematic, but there's no purple ice cream. But then they had rainbow ice cream, so I got her to take only green and purple from it in six scoops," she says.
Driving cage already
Heidi won't officially start until October, but has already started to familiarize herself with it, and may start one day a week as early as August.
- "I'm very ready and excited about everything. I've started to think and prepare and read up, but what's challenging is that I don't know what I'm getting myself into," she says.
With a background as a gardener and teacher and many years in the service industry, she is looking forward to using all aspects of her job and being a bit of a "potato". She's also looking forward to meeting the rest of the team, and is used to working in small teams at the nursery.
