The 2024 Research Days were a success!
September 20–22, 2024 - Three days with health as the theme at ViteMeir
The 2024 Research Days were a success! With health as this year's theme, the Research Days were celebrated in an engaging and exciting way throughout the weekend of September 20–22. This year's theme touched everyone, and there was great interest in the many activities and lectures that were offered.
Friday morning started with a popular lecture organized by Rask psyksiik helshejpel and Frisklivssentralen, entitled “The Art of Balancing – How to Take Care of Yourself in a Hectic Everyday Life”. The lecture was open to everyone from 10th grade and up, and gave participants practical tools for balancing the stress of everyday life. It was well received by both students and adult participants.
Friday evening continued with a social and educational quiz night. Here health was the common thread, and the evening was spiced up with short and exciting scientific contributions during the science relay. Contributions came from a number of actors, including the Health Station, the County Municipality, HVL, Vestlandsforsking and of course ViteMeir .
On Saturday and Sunday, the center was full of activities for the whole family. Restaurant and food studies at Sogndal The high school invited the participants into the Taste Lab, where they could cook healthy and exciting food together. Blood type testing, an obstacle course with heart rate monitoring, and the VR game “Save your neighbor!” created great engagement among both children and adults. In particular, the VR activity to test the treatment of anxiety, presented by Rask psykisk helsehjelp on Saturday, attracted many curious participants.
The research days at ViteMeir gave all visitors an inspiring and educational experience, and focused on how important health is for all of us. Sogn Sparebank and Sparebankstiftinga Sogn og Fjordane sponsored the event so that we could offer free admission to the center all weekend, which contributed to a good turnout and a successful weekend filled with research dissemination, learning and fun.
Now we are eagerly awaiting what the theme will be for the 2025 Research Days!
