Test life as a truck driver in a full-scale truck simulator. Play on the construction site with helmet and reflective vest, or compete with your friends to see who can build the best dam in the hydropower plant. On the first floor of the exhibition at ViteMeir , you'll find fun and educational activities for all tastes. In this exhibition, the theme is energy and sustainable tourism.
The landscape in Norway is very special. Few other places in the world have as many high mountains and waterfalls. The high mountains make it easy to produce energy using hydroelectric power stations. That's why most of the energy produced in Norway comes from waterfalls. However, this would not have been possible without the natural flow of water. You can learn more about this in ViteMeir 's own hydropower plant.
The beautiful landscape of Norway can present extra challenges when it comes to transportation and tourism. It takes a lot of energy to drive over high mountains. In the truck simulator at ViteMeir you can train to become an energy-efficient driver. You can also compete to drive an electric ferry between Kaupanger, Aurland and Gudvangen in the shortest possible time. But without electricity, neither electric ferries nor electric trucks are any good. The electricity grid is crucial for transporting energy to where we need it. Try to build your own power grid in Spenningsmeisteren, but watch out for bad weather!
