SmakeMeir looking for a chef

ViteMeir - Vitensenteret i Sogn og Fjordane as - opened at Kaupanger in Sogndal municipality on November 11, 2021. The center is a visitor and experience center for kindergartens and schools and leisure guests. ViteMeir 's vision is to inspire playful learning. The academic profile of the science center is REINT - Resources - Energy - Brainstorming - Nature - Technology. We focus on this in our exhibitions, learning programs and day-to-day operations.

ViteMeir is also a unique meeting and event arena for the business community. The café SmakeMeir is an important part of the total offering from ViteMeir and has a strong focus on reducing food waste and using local and organic ingredients. SmakeMeir prepares both lunch and meeting food, catering and corporate events in addition to regular café operations. ViteMeir has about 15 full-time equivalents spread over about 30 employees. In SmakeMeir there are currently about 3 full-time equivalents and we are looking for a new employee who can help strengthen our dedicated team!

We are looking for a chef with a certificate or broad experience from the food industry. You must be sociable, creative and curious, but most importantly, you must be the right person who wants to help develop great food experiences for our guests.

You'll encounter a varied working day, and we can promise you that you'll have both fun and development at work. As a chef at SmakeMeir , you'll also have the opportunity to help develop our SmaksLab, where we offer courses and team building, among other things.

What qualifications and skills do we want you to have:

First and foremost, you must enjoy cooking and be a good team player. It is desirable that you have a vocational certificate or broad experience from the industry. In addition, you must be:

  • Engaged and efficient

  • Independent and enterprising   

  • Flexible, creative and solution-oriented 

  • Have good attitudes and a strong work ethic 

  • Be in a good mood; humor can be dry, as long as the food isn't 😊.
