Framework agreement with the County Council
The county municipality adopts a framework agreement with ViteMeir
On June 4, 2019, the county council decided that Sogn og Fjordane County Council would enter into a three-year framework agreement with ViteMeir from the 2020/2021 school year. The agreement covers access to the exhibitions and various learning programs at the center, visits from ViteMeir to secondary schools, as well as the associated ambassador scheme for employees at the schools.
Prerequisite for becoming a regional knowledge center
- This is another important piece to put in place before the autumn of 2019, when we will apply to the Science Board (administrator of the Science Center Program under the auspices of the Research Council of Norway) for status as a regional science center," says Marianne Jevnaker, project manager for ViteMeir. "A county anchorage is one of the criteria that must be met in order to receive government funding for operations. The county council is now heavily involved in the realization of the center, both as the largest owner, builder of the new building that is coming to Kaupanger and now as a user of the center for its secondary school students.
The details of the agreement on what the offer to the secondary schools will entail will be concretized when the content development at the center has progressed a few steps further.
