Exhibition removed after near miss

On Sunday, January 30th, we received a report that parts of our exhibit, the sustainability lantern, which hangs in the stairwell area by the exhibition area, fell into an area where there were children present.

ViteMeir have spent yesterday and today trying to determine the cause of this section's fall and have concluded that it is a mechanical failure in the winch mechanism. Furthermore, interviews have been conducted with all parents we know of who had children at, and in the vicinity of, the fall site. No injuries have been reported, but some children were at and very close to the fall site.

ViteMeir We are aware of the safety responsibility we have for our guests, and acknowledge that this could have had a different outcome. A decision was therefore made to dismantle and remove the sustainability lights from the exhibition area until further notice. This was carried out today in consultation with the suppliers and installers involved.

In light of yesterday's incident, we have chosen to order a risk assessment of all our exhibitions. It should be safe and educational to visit. ViteMeir .
