Get on your motorcycle and feel the wind blow your hair back. Compete to blow balls using the Bernoulli effect, or work together to build a mountain. On the 3rd floor of ViteMeir , the theme is the top of both the globe and the body. Here you can learn about weather, wind and space, and challenge the little gray ones in Sophus Lie's mathematical world.
Sophus Lie is the mascot of ViteMeir, but before he became a star, the son of a priest from Nordfjordeid was best known as one of Norway's greatest mathematicians. At ViteMeir , Sophus offers exciting math nuts and a mathematical climbing tower that invites you into mathematics.
Did you know that Earth is the only planet on which life has been found? What makes Earth so special, and why is there life here? On the 3rd floor you can learn more about how the Earth is structured and how it has changed throughout history. Test how the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere affects the Earth's climate, and which planets are located in what scientists call the equable zone, or the goldilocks zone.
Our favorites on the 3rd floor:
Build a tower and see how long it lasts during an earthquake
Learn basic programming on the "Code Table"
Puzzle together the continents on Earth as they were before, as they are now and as you think they will be in the future
Fly through the air and collect postcards with the "Paragliding simulator"
Build a slide on the wall using Archimedes' screw
